Ella meets her little brother

Byron & I were so excited on Saturday because Vance leaving the hospital meant Ella meeting her little brother. We had no idea how she would react. We've been talking about him for months now. Since we've been going back and forth to the hospital we've talked about it even more. She just turned one and really had no concept of what we were talking about so we were curious how she would react. As soon as we got to the lobby of the hospital the staff person carrying Vance in his car seat stood beside Ella for a picture. Ella immediately reached up and pulled down the car seat to see what was inside. Once we sat them beside each other she wanted to touch him. We let her and then immediately pulled her back. Since then whenever she sees Vance it's all about touching him or grabbing the bottle in his mouth. I try to encourage her to touch him gently. She'll touch and most of the time walk away. I leave an empty bottle out for her to hold when I am feeding Vance and that keeps her from grabbing his. Twice now I have told her to get her baby and both times she got her baby doll and handed it to me.

I have no concept of what is ahead. But what I do know is that right now I'm loving being a mom of two. I'm relieved to know that God doesn't expect me to have all the answers or know exactly how to be a mom of two successfully. He just wants me to trust Him and turn to Him for help. So I fully expect there will be days I want to pull my hair out, cry, pass out with exhaustion or run out the door screaming. But I know those days will be followed by a peace that God is in control and that He is with me as I walk through it. I look forward to seeing my children grow up together & pray they are close friends. I also look forward to seeing how God is going to change me through all of this.
